New ConceptCurrent Cover Ebook 08-24

Hi All, I am looking for some honest feedback. I’m really struggling on this.

LEFT

New Concept | I have been thinking of replacing the cover with this new version. I  like the blue tones and black tar in the foreground, the city in background.  However,  I fear you lose sight of the hand and chain. I also fear it crosses the line into “too busy.”

RIGHT

Original Concept | I still love the black and white simplicity of the original,  but I fear it doesn’t show up well on Amazon because of its lack of color. I also fear that it might give off a “too gritty” appearance that could turn off potential readers.

Looking for Feedback

What do you think?

  • Stick with original?
  • Is the new concept better, more attractive to a wider audience?
  • Could the new version at least be a step in the right direction with a little more work?

It’s a great shade of blue, but the things that were added to the new cover are kind of confusing. What would happen if you changed the color of your font on the original cover? I dunno. Just a suggestion you might try, if you haven’t already. I’m definitely not an expert. 🙂

The cover of the original is what made me read the synopsis. The new covers look too busy for me personally, and they don’t represent anything in the book as well as the original (metaphorically they do, but who beys a book because of the metaphors that the cover represents).

The original cover was great, even though it had perhaps too much of a daredevil/spiderman pose where it looks like the main character is looking down on the city from rooftops, and the angle makes him look more “heroic”, but showing a “normal” person with what becomes his signature weapon, was a really good idea.

The original is without a doubt – perfect. More would be less. The silhouette fits the “Hero”, sparked my imagination and IMO, is as it should be. The chains would more appropriate for the “Paradox”, which by the way, is imaginative, engaging and an absolutely amazing work of fiction.
