“Why is the Evil Easter Bunny throwing a Frisbee at the S&M gingerbread man?”
So, since I started The Chronicles of Jonathan Tibbs, I knew there was a complicated plot point that would appear to be an un-resolvable time paradox. In my head I know the mechanics. I setup the rules of Jonathan Tibb’s universe very specifically in order to make sure there was no plot hole and that all super nerds would be happy. However, it’s a complicated concept that I’ll likely have to re-write a thousand times in story form before it gets anywhere close to comprehensible to anyone. I do intend to accomplish this in the sequel (fingers crossed).
Today, I managed to successfully explain the theoretical construct to my wife. I’m not going to try and explain it here, (trust me – you’ve been spared) but I thought I would present the white board diagram and horrible artwork I produced during the endeavor.
I guess, if you’ve read the first book and you want to study this horrendous crime against reason long enough, you might be able to piece it together without explanation. Still, I think I am pretty safe saying there is no spoiler in sharing.
Ummm, seriously though… if anyone actually manages to guess the logic after viewing this picture… PLEASE! Stop what you are doing and go work for a government intelligence organization cracking encrypted messages intercepted from hostile enemies. They need your genius more than my blog entry does.
I think I understand it
Actually after a glance it’s pretty simple u even labelled it for us
My wife doesn’t like to read in the first place. I understand you pain, but your pictures do a good job of explaining things, since I’ve read the book, it all makes sense.
I forgot to mention that I am a writer as well… Which hopefully explains the wife comment better now.
