BetaReader

Had a great moment today. One of my beta readers was within 10 pages of finishing the first installment of The Never Hero and she texted me with what she thought was happening.

Her theory wasn’t where the plotwas headed, but a piece of what she said made me realize that I had inadvertently set up clues in the novel to point to this alternate conclusion.  It was completely an accident, but it fit perfectly.

This wasn’t a bad thing, on the contrary it was awesome. It gave me the idea I needed to fix the one chapter I still felt was left too vague.  Best of all, it doesn’t require a rewrite, just the tweaking of a few lines of dialog.  It has the added benefit of amplifying the very misdirection she was suspecting.

Beta Reader for the win!
